 Fed up with looking for a place to travel with the entire family? Tired of hearing "I'm bored" from your older kids and at the same time chasing after your young ones for whom the site was not appropriate?

Families with various aged kids might be nodding in agreement at this point. It is very hard to find an idea for a family trip that is appropriate for both teenagers and toddlers alike.

 Enter the Prat Stream -- or as it is better known -- Nachal Prat. Nachal Prat is a beautiful, sparkling stream located in the Anatot settlement, under the auspicies of the Nature Reserve Authority.

What I like about the place is the variety of activities you can do there.Your older kids want to go swimming? No problem! There is a large, deep pool with a lifeguard on duty at all hours. Your younger kids don't know how to swim yet? Great! There is the Prat stream itself which runs through the whole site, deep at some points and extremely shallow at others -- just pick a spot. A hiking kind of family? Just perfect! There is a long full day hike you can go on or short hikes that can take up to an hour, with small pools in the middle.

The stream is shady in some places and sunny in others so you can choose where you prefer to sit. The water is fresh and most importantly-- CLEAN! There are picnic tables in the park so you can spend the day while enjoying breakfast and lunch. We have been there many times as a family and each time is just as fun as the last.

So, you might be thinking to yourself: "Ok. No place is perfect -- what’s the catch?"

Well, the first catch would be, obviously, that since Nachal Prat is so fantastic, it can get pretty crowded, especially during the holidays or summer vacation. So make sure to get there early. The second issue is that the entrance to the river is by driving down a pretty steep mountain, which is a little scary for the faint-hearted. So just make sure to drive slowly and safely. 

I highly recommend visiting the Prat Stream. It's a family trip guaranteed to provide you with an entire day of fun for your entire family.
