I used to visit Hungary a lot, but since the Covid19 Pandemic started to spread all over the countries, sadly, I haven't been there this year. I bet almost everyone knows Hungary! It is a country in central Europe. In this review I will show you why you should visit it in winter and in summer as well. A view from the Calvary hill stock, Szekszard/Hungary.
First of all, you can visit many historical places such as the beautiful Danube River, which flows through Hungary from north to south. taking a tour boat along the river you will see the Hungarian Parliament Building. Also visiting Lake Balaton, which is actually the largest lake in Central Europe, will be one of the important things you have to do in Hungary. Moving from the capital city to Pecs, specifically the old town, where you can find the Pecs Cathedral, which was built on an ancient Roman burial site.
In addition to these historical places you can also enjoy the Hungarian food in many popular markets all over the cities of Hungary. One of the reasons I like Hungary is the food! Starting with Goulash, it is one of the most famous dishes from the Hungarian culinary repertoire, full of meat and spices, which is really tasty. In addition, the Hungarians' all-time favorite - Langos, which is made of deep-fried flat bread. It is usually eaten with garlic sauce, cheese, sour cream, or even sausages. Here we come to my favorite! One of Hungary’s most beloved street pastries, kürtös kalács, a sweet spiral cylindered bread made from sweet yeast dough cooked over charcoal and coated in plenty of sugar (I wouldn’t recommend this for those who are on a diet).
My uncle lives in a small city called Szekszard, which has a famous hill called Calvary Hill which contains a huge golden grape statue, it represents many popular wineries in this city, and they say its the best wine in Europe!
For me this place will always option number one to visit, to see more places there and discover some new food I’ve never tried, a place where you can really enjoy new year’s parties, Christmas evenings and summer lake activities,my Hungarian relatives always help me make the most of my time there, but even you're not lucky like me to have relatives in Hungary, it's easy to make friends there. Hungarians are nice and friendly. They really love to help each other. I made some friends who came to visit me in Israel, I don’t think there’s something I didn’t like about Hungary. It is a very nice country to have fun in.
I have never been in Hungary but definitely after reading your blog I'll go there soon...
ReplyDeleteHi Shada ! I've been to Budapest at least 5 times. My ex-mother in law lives there. I totally agree, a great place to visit .Did you go to the Marzipan Museum ? How about shopping on Vaci st. ?
ReplyDeleteHi Shada, Hungary used to be part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which accounts for the fancy architecture, and it is also very famous for its fancy Thermal Baths. I too have never been, but following your recommendation, I will certainly try to get there.
